So-called “compulsory abduction of comfort women” became an international issue between Japan and Korea in 1991 by virtue of the Asahi Shimbun’s report that featured a veteran Seiji Yoshida’s testimony. After that, modern historian Ikuhito Hata went to Jeju Island and confirmed that a series of his testimony is a frame-up. Today, no objective evidence or materials for compulsory abduction was found, and Mr. Yoshida is regarded as a con artist.
